Role Profile -Data Warehouse Analyst ,Applications Solutions Leader location Grand Bay, Mauritius
This role involves partnering with senior data warehouse architects within the company and with outside,consultants in order to provide data warehousing solutions in different functional areas spanning across.,various geographies. The main focus area will be in providing a framework for the users to be able,to easily analyze and view data at different aggregated levels that will help them in making informed,decisions in an effective manner.
Specific Outcomes / Accountability:
• Works closely with business users and data analysts to anticipate, plan and prioritize various,reporting and analytical needs of the users that cannot be effective satisfied using OLTP database,systems,Creates business requirement documents that capture all the relevant reporting needs of the users,and then proposes high level design plans and prototypes of the expected outcomes from the system,Identifies multiple, heterogeneous data sources, which could consist of ERP application, flat files and Excel files from external entities,Develops the solution using a three-tier architecture using warehouse database server, OLAP server technologies and the presentation layer using the optimal query and reporting tools,Designs, builds and tests technical components to extract, translate and load data from transactional systems to data warehouse, including the architecting of data warehouse data relationships (i.e., data cubes) for the purpose of efficient report writing and analysis .,Evaluates the requirements for the appropriate tools for the presentation layer and suggests the right tool for the users to independently analyze and report from the data warehouse,Provides effective data mining solutions that will analyze data and provide reports showing trends and/or alerts so that action can be taken on time,Designs, implements and maintains security and permission features in the data warehouse,Acts as the primary contact for production support issues related to the data warehouse,Plans, coordinates, and executes software upgrades and patching for the data warehouse,Creates and maintains data warehouse system documentation
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field,• Five or more years experience in information technology - specifically in the business data
warehousing area,Candidate must have experience with Data Warehousing/BI development, with hands-on experience,using SQL Server best practices and integration with other MS platforms, such as SharePoint and Outlook, for distribution and delivery of data
