This is a Civil Engineering Construction Company engaged in the construction of Roads, Bridges marine works. The Company senior staff comprise of qualified Civil, Structural and Mechanical Engineers.
The company maintains a comprehensive inventory of Plant and equipment to cover works in the fields of mining, road works including heavy earthworks and bituminous works, heavy dam earthworks, land and offshore Piling and heavy steel fabrication works. The total no of units exceed 250 no with a resale value of US$10,000,000.
The company has current work load commitments up to the year 2012 with road and bridge contracts within Kenya of value US$ 100,000,000 ( One Hundred Million US dollars) .

Position
The company requires to fill the position of a Senior Plant Manager to be part of the management of its works
Job description and responsibilities
The senior plant manager will be responsible for the management of maintenance of a fleet of earthmoving road construction plant and equipment for a 40 km road construction. The project manager is expected to work under minimum supervision in attending to the engine works, hydraulics, transmission, undercarriage and major electrical works of the major plant and equipment.He/She will also be expected to provide guidance and advise on the correct and efficient deployment of plant and equipment for various works to the construction teams on site. The manager is expected to provide leadership and supervise a team of technical mechanical staff, drivers and operators in the workshop department for the planning of plant inspections and maintenance schedules, efficient attendance to repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment. The Manager will superintend over the administration of the maintenance of records for plant and equipment utility, maintenance, consumption of fuel, oil and lubricants and working schedules of the equipments.
Qualification Required
Minimum level of education shall be Diploma from a recognised institution and have a certified qualification in heavy plant maintenance course from a recognised institution.
Minimum 10 years experience in heavy earth moving equipment maintenance and repair on road works with at least 5 years in a position with similar responsibilities.
Strong capacity in analytical and numerical abilities with good planning and organizational skills. Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
Computer literate on general office software .

The person should have a good command of English Language, and willing to travel extensively around the country
