investor relations manager

Responsible for (in conjunction with the Deputy Group Chief Executive and the Group Chief Executive
as appropriate) creating and presenting a consistently applied investment message to the investment
community on behalf of the company, and for monitoring and presenting to management the opinions
of the investment community regarding the company’s performance.
Deputy Group Chief Executive & Group Chief Executive in Durban South Africa
CA (SA), CFA or MBA;
8 - 10 years experience in managing an investor relations department.
Ability to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally.
Excellent written, verbal and relationship-building skills in the investment community, and the
ability to collaborate with the executive team;
Function as the primary point of contact for people outside the company, fielding calls and
answers questions from both investors and the media;
Superior computer skills especially Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Practical approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and driving timely resolution;
Strong analytical, financial & project management skills;
Detail-oriented with ability to step back and challenge data and results;
Extremely reliable and customer-centric;
Excellent interpersonal & organization.
Knowledge of:
Business; Processes; Policy and procedure; Finance; Systems; Industry; Business dynamics and
Key Performance Measures
Develops and maintains a company investor relations plan;
Performs a comprehensive competitive analysis, including financial metrics and differentiation;
Develops and monitors performance metrics for the investor relations function;
Establishes the optimum type and mix of shareholders, and creates that mix through a variety of
targeting initiatives;
Monitors operational changes through ongoing contacts with company management, and
develops investor relations messages based on these changes;
Provides regulation and disclosure training to all company spokespersons;
Creates presentations, press releases, and other communication materials for earnings releases,
industry events, and presentations to analysts, brokers, and investors;
Oversees the production of all annual reports, filings, and proxy statements;
Manages the investor relations portion of the company web site;
Monitors analyst reports and summarizes them to the Group CEO & Deputy Group CEO;
Serves as the key point of contact for the investment community;
Establishes and maintains relationships with stock exchange representatives;
Organizes conferences, road shows, earnings conference calls, and investor meetings;
• Provides feedback to the Group CEO & Deputy Group CEO regarding the investment
community's perception of the company;
Represents the views of the investor community to the Group CEO & Deputy Group CEO in the
development of corporate strategy;
Provides feedback to the Group CEO & Deputy Group CEO regarding the impact of stock
repurchase programs or dividend changes on the investment community.
